What does photography mean to you?
What is photography for you?...
For me photography is a few things:
- Its my creative outlet... I not really good at drawing or painting, I just don't seem to have the knack for it so photography allows me to express myself and what I see
- Memories.... Every image I have taken I can still remember the time, place and the emotion I was feeling at the time. Especially when working on one of my personal documentary projects. Memories are so important to me.
- It allows me to show my world... my reality as I see it... Photography to a certain extent isn't real because every individual has their own reality. I like that about it.
I'm not going to say photography gives me purpose in life because I have my children... My purpose is to raise, provide and support them. Photography has helped I'll say with that because I can look back through the years of memories... good and bad.
What makes me keep on clicking the shutter, is the knowing that they are our history being recorded for us to remember a life time.
My 'Home' project is so important because I want my children, and future generations to know who we were... Our history may not be very important to you or anyone else but that doesn't matter.... It matters to me and that's enough to keep on clicking,
I've said it before on previous posts, but shoot what you love.... what ever it is shoot it and record it.
